A maritime career coach is an individual who, for a consulting fee(s), assists the mariner in developing a career in the maritime industry. This includes assisting in issues and expectations like:
Documenting Sea Time:
• Determine the actual credential or credentials that the mariner qualifies for based on experience, tonnage, and sea time.
Identify National and International Training Requirements:
• Identifies and recommends appropriate training Career Path or Employment Tracks:
• Design career or alternate career paths Application Process:
• Assist with, review, or prepare U.S.C.G. Application Forms. Medical Conditions:
• Assist in medical questions
Monitoring:
• Tracks the mariner’s application through USCG evaluation process as the mariner’s third-party representative who will act on their behalf.
Military-to-Mariner:
• Assist military afloat service members to possible future civilian maritime position.
Reconsideration and Appeals:
• Handle reconsideration and appeals of NMC license or endorsement determination. Answering Mariner Specific Questions:
• Answering specific questions about the process Maintain Applicant Data Storage
• Maintain an Endorsement Data Storage for annual separate fee Need additional course or career information.
